Hair Loss or Greying

There seem to be three things more important to human research than curing any disease; sex, hair and easy ways to lose weight. The joke is that we will probably find a cure to male pattern baldness before curing cancer but what is kinda sad it is might actually be true. But on the plus side, you will have a nice healthy head of hair while going for your treatments.

Malaria

Malaria has plagued society for generations. Clean modern day treatments have removed the problem from most of the developed world but warm 3rd world countries are still at issue. Is there a way to cure this problem or will humans always need to get shots every time they even think about going to Africa?

Cancer

Cancer is the plague of the 21st century. Cancer kills seemingly indescriminantely and until recently had a very high mortality rate. There have been many strides to ride the world of this cause of so many heartaches but a cure seems to still be far away. Many find money is to be had finding treatments instead of cures but a cure is what is really needed. But what exactly is the cure? What is the cause for that matter? How can we stop this modern day mystery from destroying peoples lives?

Working on Cause. The cause of cancer seems to be vast, from food we eat to places we live. Is there a way to narrow this list to something we can understand and maybe even do something about?

Working on Cure. Cancer can be cured, but how and what needs to be done? What steps have been made towards removing this problem for future generations?

Jan 2013 UCI find new target for treating multiple cancers Solution, p53 protien fitted with stictic acid
Feb 2013 Study of compounds based on a fungal chemical has anti-tumor activity Solution; Epipolythiodiketopiperazine (ETP)

Working on Treatment. Treatment is the money making side of sickness. Why solve a problem when you can make crazy amounts of money on the suffering of others? Mask the illness without removing it. Even after saying this, there are people who actually care enough to ease suffering, what has come from all this?

Microscope or Photo Precision Camera Technology

Photography has jumped leaps and bounds in the last century. When humanity moved from paintings to photos and then again to digital photos, content exploded. From rare volcanic eruptions to every babies first smile to cats doing something cute, cameras were there. But we are always trying to do more. Zoom in more, slow down motion, speed up quality. What limits do we have? Can we take a picture of a proton? Can we see photons change direction? We want to see everything in a picture. What is being done to fulfil that dream?

Cavities

Teeth, they are with us hopefully till the end. We grow them after we are born as to not tourture our mom with breast feeding. Then when our head gets too big, we get rid of the small ones and grow another set that will last us supposedly the rest of our lives. However, somewhere along the evolutionary ladder, we developed the ability to have cavities. Is this a defect in evolution? Are we outliving out teeth's experation date? Why don't we grow a backup set?

Medical (March 2013) Teasing out New Teeth Solution, cell manipulation between molar and gums

HIV and AIDS

HIV and AIDS hit the world pretty hard, pretty much putting the final nail in the coffin that was the "free love" from the 70s. Originally the theory of how is was started was in Africa by someone eating raw monkey brains. But today, this virus infects and kills countless number of men and women all over the world. What can be done to prevent or cure this horrible disease?

Prevention;
Medical (July 2012) HIV prevention pill receives approval by FDA. Solution; pill

Cure;

Gun Violence

Multiple murders at the hands of one person with a weapon in their hand is a tragic thing. Especially when it happens for no understandable reason. The public, in an effort to fix the problem without knowing the true cause, lash out at whatever the media points at first. But who is to blame for these horrific events? Gun makers? video games? society? psychiatric care facilities? What can be done to prevent it in the future or is this just something we will have to deal with as a modern interwoven society?

Media (Jan 2013) Bloomberg: Media need to rethink gun violence coverage. Solution; change media exposure
